Over the years, he has developed a practice rooted in experimentation, exploring various clay bodies, forms, and glazes. While his work is predominantly wheel-thrown, Vaughan's focus extends beyond functionality to artistic expression, often creating larger vessels that blend tradition with contemporary design. Many of his porcelain vessels explore language as surface memory — cobalt inscriptions held within restrained, architectural forms.
